Christchurch Clinic

Patients come to The Wakefield Clinic in Wellington for surgery from all over New Zealand. Many of the treatments being offered are not available in the Public Hospital System or elsewhere in New Zealand. In order to provide easy access to the services of the Clinic, patients can be seen initially and for follow-up in regular clinics run in Christchurch. All surgery is undertaken in Wellington.

Mr Kusal Wickremesekera ("Mr Wicks") consults at Intus in the Oxford Clinic, 38 Oxford Tce, Christchurch on alternate Mondays. New patients come from throughout the South Island for consultation regarding the possibility of surgery for weight control, and for a variety of treatments for liver cancer. Follow-up consultations following treatment in Wellington are conducted in this setting. The nurses at Intus are involved in giving hepatic artery chemotherapy.
